Key West........finally!

Last night we stayed in Port St. Lucie. It was only a two and a half hour trip after picking up Kara and Matthew.  We managed to leave on time in the morning, pick them up and get to the Roadrunner RV park by 4:30.  It was kind of hectic, but what do you expect with three adults, two babies, and two dogs. The kids were great it was the dogs that were freaking out.  I picked the RV park because it had a hot tub and my back is killing me.  We were so tired when we got there we just ate and went to bed. Today we took off on time and that's about the last thing that went right.  Actually that's not quite true, but more tomorrow.  Trying not to concentrate on the negative.  Sitting on a pier in Key West with a cold drink.  A must try: Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka.  Baby is asleep so I get to spend some quiet time with Clay......life is good.

Valentine's Day

Our third night away from home.
Traveling is a lot slower than I had planned. We are on our third day and are not even to our second original destination.  Tomorrow we pick up Kara and Matthew in Sanford and hopefully make it to Deerfield Beach to spend the night before heading to Key West Wednesday.  Setting up and taking down takes the most time. Luckily we met a nice man named Dick in Mississippi that taught us a lot. Like getting the air out of the water so we don't burn up the water heater.  Zeb is handling everthing really well.  The dogs are another story.  Clay and I are getting better at teamwork. The tension is a lot less between us after the first couple of stops. You really can't help but grow closer. We'll see what how it goes adding another adult and a two year old. I'll never take unlimited amounts hot water for granted again. Hopefully we'll get an early start tomorrow and make some tracks.  Can't wait for the warmer climate.

Baby steps

Looks like takeoff has been delayed by a day. Brought Zeb to doctor today so we have three months before he has to go again, but the shots have left him a little drained.  Spent day before yesterday cleaning RV from top to bottom.  Tonight we put new mattress in.  It freaks me out thinking about sleeping on a used bed, but I don't have a problem sleeping in hotels except for the fact that the mattresses aren't temperapedic.  Go figure!  Also discovered we had no sewer hose so we got one.  We really would have looked green showing up and not having something that basic.  It's been so cold the last two days it's been hard to get anything done. Really need to get a manual or guide or something to learn about all the systems.  During this first trip we will hopefully find any bugs and be able to fix them.

Start of a New Adventure!

Today our 5th wheel was delivered. Sold the house. It should be interesting for Clay and I to hit the open road with six month old Zeb in tow.  Not to mention two weenie dogs Ava and Fred.  The plan is to be on the road with Clay for the next year or two while he works.  First we will take a maiden voyage down to Key West and work out any bugs we come across. I realize that a gypsy lifestyle is a bit unorthodox, but life is short and kids grow fast.  So I plan on blogging about our adventures and travels and really anything else that pops into my head. This way family will be able to track Zeb growing up and I'll have a place to muse about motherhood and to note milestones for future reference. I honestly don't know how blogs work or how others read your blog. My favorite chic lit author has a blog and I've read about blogging so I guess I'll learn as I go. At least this way I think people have to choose to read your blog and I'm not randomly interrupting people throughout the day. Wanted to start blog before we set out not just wish I had later. Well t minus 3 days. Got a lot to do but, Life is Good!
